One important part of local culture that I love to celebrate at the MenifeeXp Magazine is the talent right here in our community. Whether that’s an artist, musician, or athlete, I want to showcase the movers and shakers making a difference in our community. Each month, I go out to events and showcases searching for the individuals who stand out and make our community a vibrant and unique place to live.

This month, I am thrilled to announce Leah Hall as MenifeeXp’s featured artist. As an accomplished artist, illustrator, and dedicated member of the Arts Council Menifee, Leah plays a vital role in shaping the cultural landscape of our city.

A passion for illustration and community

Leah Hall brings a unique perspective to the local art scene. Her background as an illustrator and teacher for over 20 years allows her to capture stories through engaging visual designs. When getting to know Leah, I discovered that she is very passionate about young children having access to books and creative activities.

“It’s such a huge thing for kids to be able to have access to books,” Leah told me as we discussed some of her recent projects and accomplishments.

She currently has two coloring books published on Amazon and is looking to add more to her portfolio soon. Of the two coloring books, one is for children and the other for adults. Looking over the designs, I can see the passion Leah has for animals and nature, and how that plays a role in her creativity and designs.

She also mentioned to me her Etsy store, where she sells her original artwork and poster prints. When I first met Leah, she was displaying her artwork at a local exhibit in Menifee hosted by the Arts Council Menifee, of which Leah is an active member.

I also got to look over a copy of one of her more recent projects, a children’s book she recently illustrated titled Winter and Her Sisters. Leah mentioned that this is the first of a possible four-book series she plans to illustrate for author Anita Mariotti.

When Leah isn’t illustrating for other authors, she also continues to work on her own graphic novel release, which she told me will be titled Witness to a Murder.” Which she hopes to release later this year.

This graphic novel centers on a crow with a strong sense of justice who witnesses a crime and decides to get involved by leaving clues to help humans catch the responsible criminal.

With over 100 pages of illustration for this graphic novel, Leah certainly has her hands full with artistic and creative projects. Making her quite the inspiration for myself and other local artists in the Menifee area.

Creating art is a highly personal process, yet it thrives on public connection. When local artists share their work, they provide a space for residents to gather, reflect, and share common experiences. Leah’s creative pieces invite viewers to pause and appreciate the world around them.

Bringing creativity to the Arts Council Menifee

Beyond her personal portfolio, Leah is deeply involved in fostering creativity throughout the city. She serves as an active member of the Arts Council Menifee. This organization works tirelessly to promote local talent and organize events that bring the community together.

Civic participation takes many forms. For Leah, it means advocating for the arts and ensuring that creative voices have a platform in our growing city. The Arts Council Menifee provides essential community services by hosting public exhibitions, workshops, and seasonal gatherings. These events offer a wonderful opportunity for families and individuals to connect with their neighbors while supporting local creators.

How local art shapes our future

Menifee is facing both opportunities and challenges as we look toward the future. Growth brings exciting new businesses and services, but it also requires thoughtful community planning. Incorporating art into our public spaces and community events helps us maintain our unique character.

When residents participate in local cultural events, they build a stronger, more resilient community. Supporting artists like Leah encourages the next generation of creators to step forward and share their talents. It proves that our city values creativity, collaboration, and mutual support.
