A Temecula-based nonprofit is opening doors for women in our region through a research-informed, coaching-based mentoring program designed to strengthen women in life, leadership, and wellness.
The Foundation for Greater Opportunities in Learning (FFGOIL) has launched ARISE™ Mentoring, a women’s career and wellness mentoring program designed to help women build confidence, grow professionally, and connect with a supportive community. With cohorts forming right now across Southern and Northern California, this program is worth knowing about.
What Is the ARISE™ Program?
ARISE stands for Achieve, Renew, Inspire, Strengthen, and Empower. More than just a tagline, it reflects the program’s core purpose: guiding women toward new opportunities through personalized mentoring and evidence-based coaching.
Founded and led by Dr. Susanne Foulk, EdD, BCC (a Board Certified Coach and Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California).
ARISE™ pairs women with experienced mentors in leadership, using a structured coaching model to support career growth, life skills, and personal wellness.
The program places particular emphasis on supporting women from underserved backgrounds, including former foster youth.
Here’s what participants can expect:
- Individualized mentoring matched to each participant’s career and wellness goals
- Goal setting and career exploration, with practical networking opportunities
- Workshops and apprenticeships supporting business, entrepreneurial, and trade pathways
- The GROW Coaching Model, an evidence-based framework used by certified coaches worldwide
- Online mentor training covering skills like active listening, motivational interviewing, trauma-sensitive communication, and cognitive behavioral coaching
The program currently offers four tracks: ARISE™ Women’s Mentoring (SoCal and NoCal cohorts), ARISE™ Teen, ARISE™ Coaching, and ARISE™ Wellness.
Best of all? Enrollment is tuition-free.
Participants have already noticed the difference. “ARISE has significantly contributed to my personal and professional growth,” shared Mariam M., a student in the program. “I’ve become more self-aware and confident. The most impactful strategy has been the thought-provoking questions, which pushed me to reflect on aspects I wouldn’t normally consider.”
How Can I Get Involved?
There are three ways to connect with ARISE™ as a mentee, a mentor, or a community supporter.
Join as a Mentee
If you’re a woman looking to grow in your career, build new skills, or find your footing in the workforce, the ARISE™ program is open to you. Getting started takes just a few simple steps:
- Submit a short application
- Attend a brief orientation
- Commit to attending once a week and working toward your goals
Become a Mentor
Experienced professionals are needed to guide the next generation of women leaders. As a mentor, you’ll complete two training sessions and commit to just 2–4 hours per month, a small investment of time with a lasting impact.
Support the Program
FFGOIL relies on community partnerships to keep the program running and tuition-free. Every contribution helps:
- $25 provides a mentee with digital guides and career tools
- $100 funds a full month of mentorship
- $500 sponsors a student’s program for an entire semester
